Germany reportedly intends to meet its coal supply from the Indonesian market. Director of Coal Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Lana Saria, said coal demand from Germany had reached 6 million tons.
“(Request) 5 million to 6 million tons. The government has collected companies whose quality is as requested by the German side,” said Lana to Kontan, Sunday (19/6).
So far, no delivery has been made. The Indonesian and German governments will continue to coordinate this coal shipment.
Lana added that so far there has been no final decision on the request from Germany. For this reason, currently the revision of the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) will not be carried out.
“When it is final there will be a revision,” explained Lana.
It was noted that at the end of May 2022, the German side expressed its desire for cooperation in coal supply from Indonesia at a meeting between the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the CEO of the Association of Coal Companies in Germany (VDKI) and also the CEO of HMS Bergbau AG, Lars Schernkau in Berlin.
